Dear School:
You are slowly destroying me.
You’ve totally stripped me of my confidence, energy, and social life.
You know those situations….when you’re just happily gliding down the street and having a great day… then you trip over something that you should have seen and it knocks the coolness right out of you?
YOU are that unidentified “something”.
The stress of school + the stress in *every* other part of my life right now is not working for me.
But.. what to do?
It will get better.
In a very short amount of time, I went from feeling amazing to feeling… how I am now.
It will get better.
There must be something bright and positive at the end of it all.
If it ever ends.
I am sick and so cranky.
School is already taking a beating on me.
I am worried about a million other things.
I just want a really, really long nap.
I’m officially a “University” student now. Oh joy.
I don’t really know how I feel about that yet. I am seriously going to miss GMac.
I can’t believe that is nowhere near September 3rd and I am already stressed about school.
I’m kind of annoyed that all the classes I need to take are already full. I’m have a gazillion classes on my watchlist and I’ve become obsessive about checking my email to see if anyone has dropped one of these classes. I think I check every 15 minutes now.
So that has actually added so much more stress to my life. I have no idea what my schedule will be like. I hate feeling so unprepared. I hate waiting and having no answers! BAH!
So it’s kinda busy at work right now.
People are lined up to use the computers, which is nothing new.
I’m not gonna lie though. People are being bitches today.
Don’t give me attitude about the public computers that in no way belong to you. Seriously.
People have cussed me out over the stupidest things today!
I think this job is making me SLIGHTLY crankier than usual. I swear I’m a freakin bundle of joy, for real. But I honestly don’t have patience for the clients here any more.
Learned helplessness is a terrible thing. A lot of the clients don’t feel the need to try and do things on their own and perhaps learn something. If you’re in a place like the LMIC, self-serving skills like independence and drive will actually help you find work, a place to live, etc. But nobody sees it that way and instead decide to bitch you out when you don’t go running to them because they don’t know how to use a photocopier.
I can’t even see the humor in it or anything. Well, at least not today.
It is Monday. No one is really that happy. Except for a few, the majority of my coworkers are pretty miserable as well.
On the plus side, I did eat ginger beef for lunch and it was fantastic.
But besides all of that, I really do like working here!
It’s a really nice change from the drama at my last job(s). I’m having a way easier time picking up on the new info and I know exactly what I need to do every time I get here.
And there’s easy access to ginger beef.
Yep. It’s great.
